There are a number of misconceptions about acne and its causes. This is why millions of people spend a great deal of money buying over-the-counter creams and potions which, while giving relief, only offer a temporary solution. Destructive, because as well as destroying the P.acne it will also eliminate the “good” probiotic bacteria that protect us. These are the two most common means of treating acne. Well, whilst the prevailing conventional medical opinion is that acne cannot be cured, simply controlled, those who subscribe to natural treatments and remedies hold a different view. As the basis of alternative treatments is to treat illness and ailments as a whole i.e. address all the factors that influence the condition to bring the body back into balance. Acne must be treated holistically. In other words all the contributory factors need to be treated – oil production, toxin removal, bacterial action, together with hormonal, nutritional and psychological triggers.
